dash tack

#1 Post by troyedm » Sun Dec 23, 2007 2:37 pm

gonna have to check my dash tach against another tach. it has always read about 4900 rpm, at wot, which is low for merc 90 4 stroke. it had a 14/11 p prop so i bought a 14/10 p and put it on. last 2 trips out it would do 5900 and then develop a real rough vibration. think maybe tack was reading low. am going to put 14/11 back on this summer and try it again and see if it clears up. seems like overrev is kicking in. it is on a 24" fishing barge. o yea that 14/10 cost me 6 mph wot throttle. in dash tach is set on correct setting. thoughts? high to lake runner. what a nasty winter we are having, lake runner, did you loose electricity? we were lucky in edmond and had electricity through it all.
