Wondering what I can use to keep the water draining off my cover properly??? Thought I saw a thread on here a few days ago about what others use, other that the store bought stuff. Can't seem to find it now. Should I make my own, or is it worth buying some. My boat is an 18' Fisher, so how many would I need?? Thanks!

Think it is either or. You could make some but I like having them adjustable although you could use the pipe into a pipe an drill holes to make them adjustable. My current cover has the vents at the ridge poles an they really help keeping it cool under there. That is what I would do. Think overton or west marine carries them.

I use the same as dock, the vent type, installed them myself, they're very easy to install. Got mine off ebay for about 1/3 the price as overtons and elsewhere. Let me try to find the link and I'll let you now. You can also get the poles at a good price.

I like it Lakerunner, this is exactly what I did, but I don't have a fitted cover. I'll get some pics and post soon. If the toon is sitting on level ground I've never had standing water. Fairly cheap too. I used 1.5 pvc.

Thanks Lakerunner, looks effective and sturdy. Is that quickcrete in the coffee cans???? Jeffybear, please post your pics if you can, as mine is not a fitted cover either. Thanks to all for the suggestions!

Yes it is quickcrete. I drilled a hole in PVC in bottom of coffee can and ran a piece of re bar through to keep from slipping out of concrete. I used 3/4" pvc in can I then put a 1" inside 3/4. While under cover Betty raised it up till tight and marked it then I drilled a hole for a bolt. On top I used a 1/2 cap with a 2"cap screwed to it using a recessed screw hole.
The only place we had water pool was over tanning pad. That's why I made the modified A frame. Hint-- ink from pvc pipe will permanently stain vinyl so cover it or be sure and remove writing on pipe.
