Some ideas for storage of skis/wakeboards, small items etc

#1 Post by texaspontoon » Mon Sep 06, 2010 7:34 pm

Hey everyone, one of the things I have tinkered a lot with is storage. Trying to find a good "DRY" place to keep things including Tools, First Aid, Flares, hand held VHF's, toilet paper, cell phones, keys, wallets etc, many things did not work out well. But I recently found these dry boxes for about $20.00 each at West Marine. What I was most excited about is that they fit perfect inside the standard seats most of us have.

I also struggled with bulky things like ski ropes, skis etc. I found these yellow electric cord thingamajiggers at Walmart that work well to wind up ski ropes. They fit nicely in my live well. I also built this wakeboard and ski rack out of 1 1/4" PVC Pipe. It just slips into my rod holders (which are aftermarket as well). When I fish I simply remove them.

I had this dinky small storage tank for my sink. It would run out so fast! So I also added this 5 gallon water holding tank (actually a fuel tank converted into a water storage tank for my fresh water sink). You could actually have this be extra fuel I guess.

I use the three coolers as extra seating and storage as well. We keep two normal sized coolers up front, one for drinks, one for dry food, and we keep the big cooler in the back for towels, shirts etc(when it is not full of big fish! ).

Just thought I would post some of these in case it helps solve some of your storage problems.

nice work there. some good ingenuity on the wake board rack. We have some watertight bags for keeping critical items dry. So far this year our storage under the seats has stayed dry. Hopefully that trend continues, otherwise I'll be trying some of those boxes out like you did.

Just yesterday I was thinking about plastic "ammo" boxes. That Plano looks like a better way to go. Thanks!!!
