Originally I wasn't going to because on the 2010 model it stuck out into the aisle and the sales guy said it could be a toe stubber, but on the 2011 model they moved it so it's flush with the helm. I think having the extra couple of inches is going to come in handy when docking and there are people in the forward seats on the starboard side.
I sat on a 2011 model similar to the one we ordered and while we were on land I had my wife sit in fromt of me and I stll had excellent visibility.
Good Luck!
Having a couple of extra inches is always a good thing.

I think you will like the raised helm. I am 6 ft tall and wish I was sitting up higher.

that's a tough call. if it weren't for losing the length of the forward sofa, i'd say definitely go with the raised helm. i don't think it will help you dock, but i know my wife/kids would like it to make their life easier when they are at the helm. i'm tall enough so it doesn't matter. i have to stand to dock regardless so i can see the front of the starboard toon for my approach.

as it is, i'd probably choose the longer sofa. i don't think any of the flexsteel chairs premier uses have the flip up bolster. that was one of the few things on my suntracker i liked better than my current boat.
