I have been looking at the 2011 Bassbuggy. Its just my wife and I and we would like to begin enjoying the lake we live on. I am in the process of doing much reseach on pontoons both used and new. The lake is Moss Lake which is about 2000 acres.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks!

Dave

Welcome
What size lake are we talking? That an primary use would be helpful. The good news is there is a toon made for just about everything, from fishing, skiing, tubing or just cruising

I took out a Tracker Bass Buggy for a spin when I was shopping for my 'toon. I think they only come as an 18 footer which felt to small for me. I am sure some people like the compact size, but if it was me I may go for a larger used boat if you are trying to stay at that price point.

Sunfun, don't know where Moss Lake is, but have you checked to see if there are any size/hp restrictions?
I know of several lakes about that size here in Missouri and most of them have some type of restriction.
I would say that if all you are going to do is fish off the toon, then 20 feet should be plenty. However, if you plan to entertain family and friends consider a slightly larger one. Like the other posters said, there is a size, make and model for nearly everyone.
If you are going to primarily fish from the boat, then make sure you get either a 24 VDC or 36 VDC trolling motor with at least 70-80 pounds of thrust. A little wind and all that bulk above the water and you might as well be trying to put out a forest fire with a garden hose with a puny 12 V trolling motor. If your lake has lots of rocky shoreline/bottom look at the new Minnkota trolling motors with the flexible shaft.
Have fun!
