At least we don't need all that messy anchor line.

20' does it for me and most of the time I don't use it all.

That is pretty cool, though.

A couple of years ago we got caught in a storm on a large lake. (it came up behind us) The swells were running 4-5" and things got interesting. The front end went under and it busted the front door off, 6" of water washed over the deck, front/back & side to side. (32' pontoon boat) The engine was coming out of the water. The driving rain didn't make things any easier.

In cases like this get everybody to the back and keep the nose pointed into the waves. Keep power up to maneuver.

Thanks for the tips. The waves here weren't too big, but it was the narrow pass, and outgoing tide that made it very bumpy. It reminds me of the way that people describe LOTO. Lotos of waves refracting off the banks, and bouncing in all directions. Back when I was surfing we used to call these conditions being, "stuck in the washing machine".
