Where is the tank? They might just steal the whole thing, poke a hole in it or cut a hose to let the gas out.

Wow. I would like to see them try on our toon. It would take quite a bit of work, and for that work, they wouldn't get much as I usually keep her on the low side unless I know we will be using it a lot in the near future.

Sucks you had that stolen though. Out about $100 then so far. too bad.

Bob, can you set up a web cam to catch the bastards? At present gas prices, that's over a $100!
We are so lucky where we are. Never even had so much as a can of pop taken from the dockside fridge.

Just put a sign on the toon near the cap and write. "Smile for the Camera"

I am evil though, I actually disconnected the fuel hose on my last boat and put a fake line in hooked to a 5 gallon bucket hidden under the sun pad. I filled the bucket with 1 gallon of gas and topped it off with sugar water.

They never stole gas from me again.

Rick, you are a evil, clever SOB!! I love it.
How about some type of spring loaded toy that would fit inside the cap, but wouldn't go down the hole. When they opened it, the thing would come flying out. I'll bet you'd find a puddle of piss right below the gas cap.

I knew a guy that was having gas stolen at night from his vehicle. He trimmed razor blades and epoxied them to the gas cap. A few days later the parking lot was covered with blood and he never had gas stolen again. That was a while back. Today you would probably end up in jail and the thief would be the recipient of your boat and all other assets after a lawsuit. Still nice to dream, though.

My neighbors kids stole 3 5gallon cans from me year before. I didn't know who but had 3 suspects. I made them a new bait tank with 2 quarts water and 3 gallons gas. I knew they would be back. Well about 3 weeks later Betty looked out and yelled why did you leave your diesel can about by the wood line. I said I didn't, then thought to check bait can. BINGO the bastards took it. Well it was wait time for a broke down car in our area. I about gave up when a friend called and said she was at our mechanic in town and neighbor was there with daughters Dodge truck with a load of water. WOOOOO HOOOOO they had to replace some fuel lines and 4 injectors. I called neighbor and expressed my sorrow about the bad gas. He said the kids picked up and old mower can from his yard and used it. I said no, your Bastard grandsons stole it from me and next time I will shoot them. No more gas thefts around here

That is one good thing about being in Florida. Your boat is your castle here and we do not have the obligation of retreat in our castle.

That is not true in the North East

Florida has virtually removed that obligation of retreat law everywhere. We have a "stand your ground" law that says you have the right to defend yourself anywhere "you have a right to be".

You still can't shoot someone in the back who is running away but if you confront a thief in your yard and he confronts you, drop him.

Yea Greg that is what we had in NH for years untill a bunch of lib imports changed it a while back. if SB-88 passes we will have it again. it has passed the house by a huge veto-proof majority, now if it passes the senate and gov FLynch doesnt f it up we will be set.

Actually Maryland passed a castle doctrine law last year. I was surprised our liberal governor signed it. Still no right to carry though, so I have to carry my throw away :rofl

That'll change in the new few years. One of our delegates is getting rejected CCW applicants together for a lawsuit against the state.
