Here is a link to the mfg of the "trolling tabs" that was featured on one of the other sites I linked to..

I wonder how well they would work at full throttle, wonder if they would create drag or if they would ride in the wake of the toon...

You adjust them out of the water, at full throtle you could use the plane part to bring the nose down, then for trolling the props go in the water.

I seen them on some 30 foot fishing boats used at sea, gives them help docking too

I wonder though if they would create drag while tilted up...I wouldnt want to lower my nose on the toon anymore then it does already...rasing it wouldnt be bad though...but for 1300-1800 bucks I can figure out something else...thats the price I found them for...they are proud of them...

You could get the ones without planing tabs and they come out of the water, but yea they want big money for them

got this on my toon. can't say it effects performance since I only have 48 hp. we use it as a backup motor, also use for trolling and in shallow areas.

Thats what I thought about doing. Its the only way I can figure to mount a trolling motor on my toon without taking up a gate.

Bug, mine takes up a gate, so I don't know if it will work for you. We have the MotorGuide Wireless, 24v, 75# thrust. With the handheld wireless control, I can sit anywhere on the boat, (or probably within about 50 feet of the boat), and control the trolling motor. We have a 24 foot, 2 toon boat, and with no wind, the trolling motor will move it at about 2.5 mph, by the GPS. So far, it has been all the power I've needed for fishing.

It does take up my front gate, though.

Yeah I have looked at thouse and they are cool.

But we actually use our gates on a regular basis, it seems like its not unusual to use one side gate when loading, then when we get back to the dock the other side gate depending on how busy the lake is, and still use the front gate when we beach the toon...so taking up a gate with something the kids trip over/get hurt on is not really a

Besides my 16 yr old would trip over it everytime even if I let him (heaven forbid) install it and he KNEW it was there...that boy trips over his own feet and swears he didnt know they where there...LOL

I think interfacing one of those motors with a small computer and setting them up to be able to go out and hold a position say 20 feet from shore with GPS input once you remotely drive you boat off the trailer would be a cool addition. Then you could drive it back to the dock after you park your truck/trailer.
