Newbie here, thinking of selling my 26 CC Aquasport, and going with the TriToon experience. So to my question, How do Premier Pontoon Boats stack up, some of the important issues learned from pontoon ownership years ago, must be all stainless hardware, at least in the deck, other stuff can be refitted. I'm seeing a 2002 RE 250 3T for sale with a same year Yamaha 225 4-stroke. Thanks
Marc

I don't know about 13 years ago, but Premier is truly a premier pontoon/tritoon boat brand now. And if a boat that old has a big engine and 3 toons, it was ahead of its time.

I would suggest you spend the money to have an independent marine mechanic carefully check out the motor fully--including compression check and pressure/vacuum testing on the lower unit.

Thanks Bamaman, yes I understand the dynamics on the older stuff, my current boat has a 2002 Yamaha 250 HPDI, I do all the maintenance and have the Yamaha diagnostic software on my laptop, so checking the basics is within my ability, the early 2000 big block Yamahas had a bad corrosion issue in the oil pan, which can only be detected by scoping the powerhead from below after the foot is removed up inside the midsection. This one only has 375 hrs on the motor, so it hasn't been run much is also a concern. But looking at premiers website they look like they have been pretty well built through the years. Thanks :thumbsup

FWIW, my last boat had twin 2002 Yamaha 200 EFI engines, run in salt water, got their hundred hour service when due, and were running strong at 675 hours.

Also, Premier was in my top 5 choices.

premier has been making performance tritoons for 20 years now. I remember my grandparents neighbors having a 96' Premier Odysski with a 115 V4 yamaha which was a 18' tritoon built for water skiing, they also had a 20' rated for 150hp back then also.
