Good info here, Question or advive please, I have a 4 stroke yamaha that is new, only 16 hrs so far. Do you think I need to do all this for just for 4 months out of the water ? I can if needed start the motor every weekend and run it for a few minutes. but I dont think I would even need to do that, what do you suggest ? Thanks,

At least use Startron Blue in the gas if it's sitting that long. Ethanol fuel deteriorates within 30 after leaving the refinery. If you don't have freezing temps, there's not much else to worry about.

I too have a new Yammie @ 20 hrs., and I just changed the oil, filter and lower unit grease. If you're @ 16 hrs., I'd suggest you go ahead and do the initial maintenance scheduled @ 20 hrs. a little early if you're through using your boat for the season.

100% gasoline is still available, and it's best to have in your tank for winter. I would suggest using one of the good gasoline treatments, too.

Otherwise, there's not much winterization to do to your engine.

I also prefer to keep my battery on a Battery Tender--for longer life.

Don't bother starting your engine up weekly, as startups are where much of the engine wear comes from. I don't start my engine unless I'm going to get it up to full running temperature.

Thanks for your suggestions, I run 100% gas, top tier rated brand. I'll ad a fuel treatment. I also have a built in battery charger that stays on. I've been told with the 4 stroke fuel injected you don't need to run the gas out of the motor ?
