We did final mock up Saturday to made sure were everything would fit, got he transom put back on and Dad did the riviting for us, then we got he wiring laid out and ran, re wired the trailer lights then screwed down a few floor pieces.

I have to order some more seam tape, I know you only supposed to use it on the seams where the pieces join together, but I'm putting the tape on all the cross members, because the wood being on them turned the tops to powder, so don't think my cross members can take another 23 years of that.

We have the deck screwed down after I moved the conduit running down the right toon, so it's hidden and that gave me another 12 inches of wire to hook to the battery, then pulled all the wiring back down under the deck and laid the vinyl out to relax.

It's so heavy we could have glued it right down, felt great, I told James from pontoon stuff it felt like a NBA basket ball, soft and sticks to your hand, you will have to lift the feet to walk on it, I love the color, it's going to kick off the rest of the furniture off big time.

The best thing is it will be dry on the ride home from the ramp, we will get it glued down Friday, I been working my butt off getting my stores done for the month, been doing five a night when doing four is a hand full, and working on the toon and doing five shops isn't making it, so I took three days off to finish my stores off early Friday morning about 3 am,then want to get back on the toon.

When we get the vinyl glued down and the helm put down we can drop it off the have the engine and new controls rigged while we work on painting the fence panels, then every thing can go together, I can hear the water splashing already, we will be MOTOR BOATING on the pontoon

How come my brother seems to do all the work, you never see that Herb guy in any of the pictures, I need one of those fancy cameras like Craig has where your phone controls the camera, maybe then I could get in a few shots .

Cool Herb, are you worried about slipping on that flooring when its wet?

You couldn't slip on this stuff if you wanted too and the backing sticks to the deck just as good, not glued down, you have to lift it off the deck to move it.

When we get the vinyl glue down and rolled out, we can mount the helm get the steering cable hooked up we will be ready to drop it off to have the engine rigged.

We will focus on painting the fence paneling and putting clear coat on the fence railings, that's the last big step before we start putting on all the seats and stuff for the final time, then there will be a lot of little details like getting the boat numbers cut and decide what lettering we want to put on it.

I'm thinking I want to have the 91 Grumman name on it, just to have people say that's a 91? then that would conservation of why it looks so good and why it better and cheaper to rebuild, than to trade in, we can tell them where to get the parts or give them a price to rebuild theirs, we enjoyed rebuilding ours and wouldn't mind taking on a few more

The truck stop where we got it polished does that cheap and plus I can go to the guy who used to make my racing decals, he is closer.

They wouldn't let me put on Johns play name for his boat we have wrong on the top of the page, it's supposed to be MY DIXIE WRECK, besides they said they would think I was bragging or hooked on the blue pills :rofl :rofl :rofl

I had Dad go to my guy when he wanted to letter the switch panels on the Bus/RV made it look professional and are still looking good 20 plus years later.

Last thing I want to see on our new pontoon is boat numbers did in homo depot letters, besides we want to match the graphics to make it look factory made or better, but the boat numbers is the only one that needs to be done right away, before we hit the water.

My Sister n Law's Parents are in town for the month, we should have no problem getting them out for a ride before they head back to Minnesota, can't wait to get her in the water again, been a while since I had my deck wet.

OK time to glue it down, we warmed up to 68 during the day with the wind blowing 20 to 25 MPH gusting to 35 at times, had to put on a light flannel shirt, but suffered through till it dropped back down to 46 around 9 pm, then it was time to do some drinking trying to warm back up.

Here a close up of the grain of the floor for those who think they might slip

Image

Gluing down the first side, then we rolled it out before doing the other side

Here we are coming down the other side, dam I got caught doing some work.

Image

Image

Got the helm screwed down, cable in the steering box and the wheel on lose to let him center it while rigging the engine and controls, so we are ready to have the engine hung while we work on the fences.
