Always wanted to do this!
I have always wanted to build a boat from scratch. I have lost most of my superpowers so I wasn't sure I could pull this off, still may not
Now this isn't a build from scratch, no nothing that easy. I'm rebuilding my 95 vintage Beachcomber.

It's a job, but it is great every time you take it out you know you done it your self and made it the way you want it

If you look real close you can see why only Stainless fasteners should be used on water. Especially the water we have here on the gulf coast, Its brackish at best to salty. I may have the wife go and bucket out Sabine lake and replace it with some good stuff from Toledo Bend!

Re: Always wanted to do this!
Well my new center pontoon with motor mount is going to be ready today late or Friday. You purists out there may be aghast, but I went unconventional. No round pontoons available locally so I had a twenty foot aluminum(1/8) boat built.
Its 20 foot long, 24 inches wide, and 24 inches deep, a with a motor mount on the stern to hold the new Honda. It was cheaper than I could get one built in Ohio and its local. Oh and the lifting strakes are built in the flat bottom hull, NO wings.
I know, I know get the pics !

Re: Always wanted to do this!
Oh I forgot some pics
If you look close you might see some damage to my five sheets of decking. Let me tell any of you that may be getting pontoon stuff, shipped from any vender. Make sure you are there to receive the shipment to look for damage. The truck driver dropped this off at my "commercial addy" without letting me know. The folks there were doing me a favor by letting me use their address, and didn't know to inspect close enough. I have two corners that are going to be hard to make do. PS is making it right and I applaud them for responding to my problem.

Good looking center tube. Should provide some extra lift.
Just one boat...after another, after another
