NOW WHAT?!!!

#1 Post by magikat » Sun Jul 26, 2009 5:39 am

So we got the toon back from the dealer. They went thru the fueling system and had it running fine. Got out on the river hit the gas and away we went, yeah! After about 30mins the motor starts stalling and an alarm goes off. This continued the rest of the day. Water pump is working and it seems to be running fine. So now what gives?

Do you know what the alarm was for? It should be a distinctive code, like three 10-second beeps or some other combination and the owner's manual should be able to tell you what it means.

is it over heating? For a 4 stroke should you see a steady pee stream from it? I have read where the water pickup's are not deep enough and there were special scoops that had to be installed inorder for the motor to get enough water to cool it down. You need to check the stream when idol and then at speed. see if there is a difference.

Took it back to the dealer and they went thu the cooling system. The thermostat was crapy and was most likely the problem. Only charged us for replacement parts $160.
