Just an update for anyone looking at a talon. I installed mine and have been using it for the last two months and it's worth it's weight in gold!!! It holds me in place in very rough water and makes beach trips a breeze. I will be buying another for the front of my boat very soon. Can't say enough good about it.

I know this is an old post but I was wondering if anyone else had any info/experience with a talon or powerpole on their pontoon? I use my pontoon mostly for fishing.

Our lake only gets between 4-7' deep (maybe a few deeper spots, but not many) so I could ultimately use is to anchor almost anywhere. The bottom is all mud so I wondered how far the pole would need to extend into the mud to hold, and if I would need 2?

thanks ahead of time for any advice

Any thoughts on using two talons on the stern attached to opposite sides of the transom, vs a talon on the bow and another on the stern? Would the two on the stern have enough separation to prevent pivoting?

That is actually what I think I am going to do. All the boats I have fished with in the past have had 2 on the stern like you described. They work great and hold the boat in spot with no pivoting. All these boats were bass fishing boats and much smaller/lighter and that brings me to my concern on how they would perform on a pontoon.
