Spring in Oklahoma

Loyd, thanks, will keep it in mind when we are camped. We already had some reservations for July, so we are okay unless they decide to cancel them also. I am retired so I have a lot of options, I just hate to see a good part of another boating season being sunk by all the high water. I feel for all the business concerns around the lake. This has to put the hurt on them, also.

Yea, Burnt Cabin has a million already in new floating store and not finished yet

I guess keystone is up above the bridge that gets me to the marina, so I won't be boating anytime soon. The corp's also isn't releasing water anytime soon as all of the rivers are still swollen. The marina is running a pontoon shuttle, but with no power to raise the lift and no access to fuel, I'm SOL for at least another week. ARGH!!!!

I really would like to see the lake that high though. It is probably pretty cool looking. Not worth damaging the lower unit on a log though...

Keystone is starting to slow down, but they still aren't releasing water. The Arkansas river must still be full. It took them nearly 2 months to lower the water to a usable elevation 2 years ago. It's really a bummer too as this will negatively impact the local businesses.

How long do you think all the debris will be floating around in the lakes as a hazard to boating?

When water starts dropping a few windy days will blow most on shore. Big issue is whole trees that ground themselves in boat lanes

It's been a weird spring in Oklahoma for sure but the Walleye are biting.

Where did you catch those guys at?

Caught them at lake Ellsworth.
Last year at lake Lawtonka I was able to catch my limit every time out.

These are actually saugeye, cross bred walleye and sauger. IMHO best eating freshwater fish.

Argh! My lake was dropping and it was only 2 ft from the water dropping below the road to the marina, and they got a couple of inches of rain last night! The lake is on its way up again!

I guess I'm going to take the kayak down to lawtonka and try and get a few walleye's.

I'm headed out this morning to either Lawtonka or Ellsworth myself. I hear the Saugeye are hitting good at Lawtonka at the base of mount scott and at the bluff.

So I got on the water early yesterday, fishing was slow a lot of Sand bass. As I was coming off the water a buddy of mine was launching his boat, sent me a text about 8pm last night saying I left to early.
