OUCH!
No more doing stuff for a while, had a hernia repair. Kinda glad I had it done in the dead of winter, I'll be ready to go when the weather gets a little nicer. Hurts more than the other side I had done. Oh well, I do have a gun I need to work on.

I can sympathize with you.
I had one repaired over Christmas break, when I was in college, 42 yrs ago.
Good luck with your recovery.

Re: OUCH!
I have one scheduled for next Monday (Jan 22). Both sides! Not caring too much about the surgery itself, just not looking forward to the recovery!
Re: OUCH!
yeah, surgery is a piece of cake,, recovery is a pain, they said I would get a little sleepy then the next thing you know they are calling your name to wake you up and it's over. Not my first one, had a couple others done and I work fairly closely with most of the surgery people from time to time.. My situation if that I work at the hospital, when I go back I have to smile and say hi to cutsie little nurse that shaved me, it's a little awkward. My only advise would be to start the colace BEFORE surgery.. It took about 4 days for the stool softener to start working so there was a little too much strain in the first few post op days. So I would start that a few days before and not wait till after surgery.
Re: OUCH!
I think I have one but I'm resisting until I get Medicare next winter. My company health insurance probably won't cover everything

Just don't let strangulate between now and then, then it becomes an emergency surgery whether you want it or not. You'll know when it happens.

Re: OUCH!
left side repaired in 1988 - before days of mesh
right side and umbilical repaired 8/2017, with mesh, but open procedures... tons of pain for about 10 days, then back to normalish activity
best advice: borrow a 'lift chair' from someone... one of those recliners that raise you up to almost standing
have fun!
