Trailer Tires
Just realized the other day that the tires on my trailer were over 5 years old... since I haven't had any issues with the ones that are on there, went back with the same. Kenda Load Star st175/80R/13 Load range D. 50 bucks a pop... I had read a lot of good things about the Maxxis tire, but couldn't find it in my size with a load range D, only C. And since the Kenda's gave me over 5 years trouble free, why not. So as soon as the tires get here I'll get them on the trailer and the only thing left to do is fill the tank.. boating season is ALMOST here... can't wait.

Re: Trailer Tires
Just ordered 4 of the same for my trailer. Should be here in a couple of weeks. Actually picked my tritoon up after de-winterizing today. If the wind dies down this weekend may try to put her in the lake for a short cruise. Can't wait for warmer weather.

Re: Trailer Tires
Since I put the Kenda's on my trailer I've had zero problems after 4 consecutive shredings on the highway. Tire guys told me it was a trailer problem, guess not.

Mendes are Chinese and no ST tire from there are good. 13 inch tires are just so rare these days.
I wonder if the new Goodyear ST tire comes in 13/inch size?

Bama, I can't argue with you about the bad reputation of Chinese tires.. they've certainly earned that reputation... however having said that, I've been running the kenda loadstars for over 5 years and haven't had one single issue. Maybe that's because I went up in load range from a C to a D to handle a bit more weight.. but whatever the reason they've been good tires for me and the majority of reviews on this particular tire have been very good.

Why not replace the rims too?

Re: Trailer Tires
I took off a worn set of Carlisle’s and went with Kendra’s on a trailer for a plastic boat a number of years ago. I had them for at least 5 years with no issues at all. I had them balanced and maintained the proper air pressure and sold them with the boat when I bought my pontoon in 2015. In my opinion they were really fine tires. I hope you have good service out of yours.
Re: Trailer Tires
The GY Endurance trailer tire is not yet made in a 13" size. I went with Maxxis

Kenneth... just curious, were you able to get the maxxis in a Load C or D.... I looked at getting Maxxis because so many people have said good things about them. I found them in a 13" Load C, but not a Load D.. I wanted to go with the D just to make sure the tires could handle the weight. I had a set of Carlisle's that came on the trailer new.. they were Load C and I had a blow out with them with less than 2 or 3 hundred miles..... That Maxxis tire is supposed to be one good tire...

Re: Trailer Tires
Bamaman, Not all Chinese tires have bad records and history. Check Sailun tires. But not made for small trailers.

Re: Trailer Tires
Sailun is the only decent G rated 16 inch tire used in RVs. The problem is their lack of a good dealer base. I have never heard one complaint on RV websites. I have also not heard one had word on Goodyear G614, Michelin's rubber tire or my Bridgestone Duravis R250s. But these tires are seldom used in marine applications. Quality 13-14-15 inch tires are getting harder to find for lightweight boats.
