Does anybody have any idea how helm seats and/or bar stools or fishing chairs are typically mounted to the deck? My Sweetwater has a couple of bar stools and I want to remove one of them to give me more access more room to work as I add some audio components under the bar.
Are they screwed into the deck, or are the through bolted with nuts under the deck? My boat has underskin below the location of the stools, so I can't see from underneath. Obviously, if there are nuts on the underside, I have no way of accessing them without removing the underskin.
Thanks.

I have seen thru bolting also I have seen toggle nuts, and even threaded inserts, I would try and back one out a little and see if there are threads or a screw, worst case scenario is you use a large hole saw underneath the area to drill an access hole, get a piece of compatible aluminum, cut a larger piece and secure over the hole with rivets or screws and silicone sealant.
