Replacing my hubs

I just ordered two super lube<-linky hubs. i am thinking of using my old bearing buddies instead of the caps that come with it. I figure with the zerk fitting out side in the rear, I could just fill from the back and let the bearing buddies keep the grease under pressure for extra protection. Anyone see a flaw in my thinking?

Mine do that but my zerk fitting is behind the rubber seal, I remove it and it pumps the old grease out the front, i guess you could run the bearing buddies too wouldn't hurt.

But there so fast to add grease you don't need them.

That's how my work trailer and rinker trailer are. My pontoon trailer only had the buddy bearing caps and it was time to repack. (I hate working with grease :x ) I like the super lube design because you don't have to get your fingers all greased up attaching the grease gun. sweet. :nana When it's time to replace the grease, I could just pop off the bearing buddy and pump the new grease in through the back.
The way I understand how the bearing buddies work, they keep the grease under pressure even after you put your trailer in the water. Keeping the water out. With just a rubber plug, water sometimes gets sucked in. The down side to bearing buddies is having the rear seal blow out.
I just thought I would get a second opinion in case I was overlooking something. I don't know of anyone that use both.

I just recently learned that you are supposed to rotate your tire (hub) while you pump the grease in.

Got my new hubs on, pretty simple swap. The one down side to this style is that you may need to remove the tire to get good access to the jerk fitting. Still better than bearing buddies by them selves though. I had read the the caps that came with these were crap and they were not lying. Tried to put them on my old hubs (which I will use as spares) and they pretty much got bent out of shape :x The bearing buddies went on perfectly, thank god. :thumbsup

For tight places you need one of these couplers for your grease gun. 90° grease coupler I am not affiliated with this store, it is just the first example I could find.
