Also, I would right now go here:
http://www.bbb.org/eastern-michigan/bus ... -90007833/
and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau
If you look, they have one complaint file for warranty claim that is later marked as resolved. They might decide it is cheaper to honor the warranty rather than have a bad mark here. They already only have a C

This is a shame; I always thought Crestliner was a reputable company. Given this case it would appear I was wrong. In the given economy I can’t understand why a company would start to screw the customer base over like this. I was looking at a Crestliner before I bought my Crest. Guess the Crest was a good call. To all you Crestliner owners out there, better start crawling under your boats and take inventory of all those odds and ends so you can get ready to do battle if something goes wrong. Good luck.

The goon is my grandparents and they bought it brand new. So the warranty is still go. I have not talked to crestliner yet! I only talked to the previous owner of the wood company. I will try and get a hold of them soon!
Re: deck wood on crestliner
We were drooling over a new Crest XRS II before we decided it would be best to start with a used toon to get our feet wet. Since Crest is still on our list if we later go new... I will be watching how this goes for you. Please keep us up to date.

Actually no. You are there as a customer and the business is open to the public. You may get arrested, but that's more bad publicity for the dealership and company. Some people have balls to do this, some are just pussies that end up getting screwed out of warranties.jimrs wrote: That is real stupid, unless you want to go to jail. You can come in and talk to them but to start telling every customer your story, and refusing to leave when asked, is asking for an quick arrest record and another lawsuit. Also the carpet won't be covered by the wood warrantee.
Take my winter damaged Carport for instance:
Carolina originally said they weren't paying for shit. I basically told them that they are at least sending me all the bent parts for free or I'm posting on this site, my site, and any other forum I can find my story how the Carports were advertised to "withstand New England winters". I also told her I'd be paying a visit to the local dealer in Cochranville, Pa. to go up and get my parts. Also told her my lawyer would be handling this from now on. Lo and behold, last Tuesday I get a phone call that 20 brand new supports would be dropped off at my house. Later on Tuesday, I see an illegal walking up my driveway with 20 brand new shiny supports. I'd like to think threatening to come up in person and get them worked, or was it the lawyer, who cares...but I would have done so if necessary. Had I gotten arrested, no charges would stick and I'd have another valid reason to go after the company legally.
A friend of ours south of us also had his Carport damaged by the storm. He called them, didn't make any threats and is still getting the run around.
Again, no balls = get f

Maybe they shouldnt even call them warranties.
Maybe they should just call them BALLS.
"Ya, i got lifetime BALLS on my toon floor, and im damn well gonna collect!"

Lol at first I didn't see what the little mexican dude was carrying up my driveway. I was thinking which firearm should I get: 12 guage or SKS until he got closer and I could see he was delivering my partsWaltF wrote:Maybe they shouldnt even call them warranties.

Re: deck wood on crestliner
Getting ready to "summerize" (de-winterize) the boat this weekend and was going through the paperwork to make sure all my annual requirements were getting taken care of and stumbled across the warranty on the deck of my boat.
It calls it a limited lifetime warranty. I didn't write it down, but if I remember correctly, basically it covers full replacement (parts and labor) for the first 10 years, and then parts (wood) only after the initial ten years. They will provide either replacement material or cash value of the replacement material, at their option. Additionally, they stated that the claim must be made through a dealership, and they would provide the material/cash to the dealer to make the necessary repairs.
It also states the warranty is transferrable, but the new owner has to submit a copy of the sales receipt and a copy of the current registration to get the warranty transferred to them and - if I read this correctly - the new owner (non-original owner) only gets the balance of the first ten year portion of the warranty. I would assume this means if the boat is more than 10 years old, the new owner is SOL as to the deck warranty.
Might want to see if you can get ahold of the original deck warranty paperwork and read through it before getting too fired up with the mfr. I'd hate to see you burn a bridge that you may want to cross later.
