Washed out weekend

#1 Post by curtiscapk » Mon Apr 26, 2010 12:12 pm

I know this really isn't about my toon but it was supposed to be first launch of the year...NOT!!! goddamn rain wouldn't stop. :herbshome
I went down to lot early to hookup tankless water heater in big camper. Damn thing draws 30 amps... :x My whole freakin camper is on a 30 amp main.
I will have to run a seperate line from the pole to the heater.... :censored :censored
We got so much rain the 800 lbs of blocks I had in the truck made it sink in the bog and Paula didn't notice when she went to go to bathhouse and spun em even further down.
I had to use wheeler to pull the truck out. I was pissed at this point
So in the pouring rain I at least put out some mulch only had room to bring 3 bags down. And I laid out some patio blocks for picnic table and path to the toon.

It is definetly looking more like a home.

Hopefully will get plugs changed for next trip in 2 weeks and the damn toon in the water.

It was pretty rough down here in AL as well. We had tornados Saturday night and Sunday morning the wind was still gusting. Had the whole family down on the slip but Izzie chickend out.. I took my son out on my ski / fish combo and what a ride it was :scared I've never seen 3 ft swells on Guntersville before. Got to my slew ok and pulled some bass in though.

I am planing my "first test run" with a quick trip to lake granger tomorrow. Looks like a good chance for rain, but may go anyway.
My main goal is to take a trip to lake Buchanan and go up the "canyon of the eagles" soon. It's a hour drive and a big lake. Want to make sure everything is working right first.

Here are some videos of the last trip there a few years ago.
