Ladder Extension

#1 Post by laketime » Wed May 19, 2010 3:56 pm

Another boating year and still looking for an extension for my pontoon ladder. My ladder only goes in the water about one foot and for the older relatives it can be an issue to get out. Any new products you guys have seen or ideas?

I had sent you a PM on othe site and tomorrow will take pics of what I did. I had factory ladder and added the bottom part of another so when down it was 3 ft under water.

Ok here is mine and with a little work you can do one also

Original length ladder

I did add the standoff as the ladder was straight down and hard to climb

Here is the new length I added. I got real lucky when my neighbor bought a new toon and I liked his ladder so was able to buy only the bottom part of a 2 piece fold up ladder

Here it is down, you can see how far it is below logs

Hope you can come up with something like this that will work.

Also you might see I carpeted the rungs because the hurt our old feet but no longer

Herb, every time I go out I like it more and more. Since I went to 100/1 I have been out 5 times fishing. I ran about 5 miles at 4500 RPM to get to fishing spot, trolled at 1000 RPM for 4 to 6 hrs than back home 5 to 15 miles at 4500. Old Merc would be on second 30 gal but I have yet to go under 1/2 tank. I tell ya I think this damn thing makes gas.

On lake today a friend has a new tracker last year and like me and others getting old and harder to get up reg ladder. This ladder is pure geniuis, it cost him $25.00 instead of the $100 that was quoted. I would have added a hinge to fold but it is still good.

What cha think about this?
