Dam it, we are going to have to put it together now, we running out of stuff to polish, man I'm so glad we didn't polish the whole thing, sister n law says we are being to picky, I told her you only have one time to do it right, the only thing we want them talking about, is how good it looks and what a great job we did.

Here's the inside of the toons the polisher didn't do,

Next pictures should have us laying down the floor temporary, while we do our final lay out, so we can figure out where we are going to put the battery so we can lay out wiring and start drilling holes for helm

I like the shots of the tubes on the inside, where the mirror reflects all of the under ribs and 'bends' them into some sort of otherworldly shape. Very zen :bowdown

Thanks guys, and you will get to it Curtis, we were just blessed with the time to do it in between emergency's jobs to do, I have to go start a drywall patch job from a leak I stopped last Friday, I don't like to seal wet holes up right away, you can get a nasty mold growing fast, so I let them dry out first, then I have two more days till I start my 10 day floor cleaning schedule on the shops, so I'll only be able to put in four hours or so a day on the toon, but we will get er did.

If you want to polish it good and quick start with Tripoli (brown): The most popular compound for general cutting down, scratch removal, that usually all you need and it works quick, for a fast cut use a fast cut wheel, then when you get close switch to the lose rag wheel for final polish.

What are you polishing with? Looks great I want to do mine before I put it in the water. Since it is cold I have plenty of time.

Tripoli, fast cut wheel to start and finish with a loose wheel, you can try the polishes, but there more for finish work, doesn't cut fast enough to get you to a shine.

Acid wash it, sand it to get it started, then be prepared to get dirty, it helps if your cleaning the toons with paint thiner in between passes, that means do the whole area, then come back and clean an area buff it and replete, helps to wear gloves leather of vinyl, then they get black instead of your hands

Dam we can't quit polishing, but you can't stop till you get all parts showing looking good, Rub rails came up better than I thought they would.

Had to send the engine pod to the weld shop, the whole bottom wasn't welded good when made and the weld cracked across the bottom and two spots up top , so we get to do some touch up when we pick it up, but they were impressed with the shine we had on the pod, one of the welders thought it was stainless steel

How long will the shine last for?
Will you have to do it all over again every year?

I will put the clear coat on all parts, will kill some of the shine but it will stay like that above the water line for a long time, you might have to fix any places you rub the clear coat off of, besides that they should stay the same.

People here have been using sharkhide for a long time to protect the shine on their toons and some dealers will sharkhide them for you brand new to keep them looking looking that way.
