So I'm back! If a mod or admin wants to move this thread over to rebuilds where it belongs, that'd be great.

After a long wonderful summer, it is time to update and catch up. So here's the latest:

Had some issues with my extra fancy anchor winch setup. As the line wound onto the drum, it would sometimes pull from the side and pull the rope to the side of the anchor launcher/roller. Scared that the abrasion would weaken the rope over time.


After threading some really large and really long bolts...


Built some DIY guides out of said bolts, a couple of trailer rollers and a home-made top shackle. It now works perfectly every time.


The build for my Shi**er/Shower/Change room is just beginning and will continue over the winter. I am currently shopping institutional curtain rods and will make a simple privacy curtain that can be quickly pulled or stowed.
I chose a very simple bucket style commode with an inside bucket that can be emptied and washed.




For number two's, at risk of offending, I have discovered a modern bag system that is pretty darn simple and totally hygenic.

The system is basically a bag within an even tougher bag, along with wetwipes and toilet paper. The campers love 'em. They are odor free once sealed, and they are legal to throw in the trash! Pretty slick. And yes I tried one...curiosity.
It is rare that I would need such a system, but it is good to have for emergencies. Otherwise, the throne will just be a simple pee bucket for the girlies that are too bashful to ' hang it'.

Those that might question my need for a shower have obviously never swam in Rainy Lake in May or September (Septem-brrr) Using surface water from my washdown system will mean an extra ten or twenty degrees. I am considering heating it further as well.

I run a Coleman Tailgater as a BBQ. It is bolted to an aluminum 'drip tray'. Otherwise no other structure required. It is light enough to sling around the boat at will. Using a couple of small tables , we have cooked on it right in the middle of the playpen-sort of a poor-mans' Hibachi. I can also cook at the stern if the bow is too busy with people. I even cooked in the shack once when it was pouring rain. It is great to have this flexibility.
When it is time to stow it, I just strap it to the wall at stern and it is totally out of the way.



The only problem I had was foolishly stowing it after cooking up some Brats without cleaning the grease out of the pan, which proceeded to ooze out onto my nice new floor. At least the vinyl made emergency cleanup easy.

Six months worth of project bags. I'd guess about fifty of 'em.

As the boat doesn't fit into my garage, I work on it: in the plastic round top shelter, in the driveway, on the lake. Each job requires a bucket of specific tools and a bag of hardware. Often there is extra hardware left over. Most of it is stainless and I'll be damned if I'm gonna throw it away. Now I get the privledge of sorting it all out before starting winter projects. No it doesn't go into a coffee can
This is the THIRD time since I started building the boat!

So I was cleaning around my fuel tank (in tube) and danged if my hand didn't slip and drill a rather large hole in it.

Good Sir, I do believe the official moniker would be Al the Injected Mirthmaker V3.1

You are correct in your assumption tho. I have been working a million hours in overtime to afford this winters' upgrades. Multiport Injection is only one of them. Large wad of cash now in hand, I am just about to pull the trigger on a complete system from AFI (Affordable Fuel Injection). They, however, do not supply anything with their kits other than an inline fuel pump.

After doing exhaustive research (as usual), I decided to do it properly and use an in-tank fuel pump like real vehicles do. They run cooler, quieter, safer, and more reliably. Really hard to find decent retrofit kits, but I managed to get one. This is the pump (hasn't even arrived yet).

It is made by Tanks Incorporated. As most vehicles' tanks are only 12" deep or less, that is the max for this one as well. I will have to modify the vertical bracket, hosing, wiring to fit into my 18" deep tank in the tube. Of course, all these components have to be rated for fuel immersion (more research ).

I also spent a ton of time reserching the MPI kits offered by AFI, FAST, Holly and others. AFI is a bit more 'mom and pop', yet extremely knowledgeable. Slightly less expensive, maybe not quite as pretty as FAST. Pretty doesn't really mean much to me. I just want that sucker to work. AFI got great customer service ratings as well. I could bore you guys half to death with all the details of what each system will or won't do (or at least what they claim), but seeing as there are very few Big Blockers around here, I will take pity.

Two more weeks of 12 hour shifts pretty much straight through, and I will cut back to normal and have more time to wrench...and update
