The problem with hooking up a Teleflex gauge to the temp sensor the computer uses is it would load down the output and neither one of them would be right.

I got my bad news when I was doing the test run before I went back in the water. The new sending unit I had was bad :x
After figuring out that was the problem (no continuity on a meter)
I decided I was going for a boat ride. I will put the new one in on the lift.
I also punted on the oil pressure. I did find the oil circulation diagram and the port I see will work but there is no street ell that will work so I am making one. I also found out that the LED driver leads from the ECU for oil and temp alert are not present in the controller cable going to the console.
I am not even 100% sure there is a wire for them in the ECU cable, in spite of them citing the wire colors. I thought that would be a great addition for a buck or so.

maybe you could use a brass 90 they're fairly short. or maybe a banjo fitting like on a brake caliper. ATV and motorcycle stuff is small too.

I really only have about a quarter inch to work with. The belt is too close for comfort if it is much higher. I am thinking about sweating a piece of 1/8" copper tube into the flat of a hex head pipe plug, then mounting the oil pressure sensor remotely in an empty piece of real estate. I am still looking for another port somewhere but I can't find one. This appears to actually be part of the manufacturing process. It is how they drilled the vertical oil journal, then they screwed a pipe plug in the hole.
I am going to save that one for my 200 hour, sometime in the fall.

I still want to investigate the LED driver thing. I was more than a tad disappointed when I found out those drivers were not extended to the console/controller cable. What in the hell were they even there for?
I did score some great 10mm blinking LEDs for the application in a nice bezel mount.
