Sorry to hear about the shed collapse's. I park my boat about three hours away on my cousins farm for the winter. I was thinking about getting one of these as well, but do not live close enough to keep the snow off, so was looking for another option.

I double tarp it now but still would like something better. I was looking at getting one of those RV covers for the motorhome, and got thinking that maybe one of those would work for the pontoon as well.

I have not brought the boat home yet, so I am not sure of the width, compared to the motorhome. Just wondering if anyone has tried this, and how it worked out. I realize I will have to make a couple of cross frames, to keep the snow from settling into the middle of the boat, but I like the idea of the complete coverage for the boat.

Jediger..... oh man I hated to see those pics of your boat.... that's a crying shame.... hopefully the insurance company will pony up for a new toon... hate that this happened to your beautiful boat, but thank goodness nobody was hurt....

Holy . I am sorry to see this man. This is why we buy insurance. We hate paying it until we need it. That looks like a total loss based on what I know about insurance companies. Hopefully you had full replacement cost insurance. Saying a prayer that this all works out for the best. keep us posted.

Looks like they are going to write it off. Good news is that they are giving us a fair price for it. Bad news is that replacement will likely require sitting out most of this season. Oh well. It will save money on gas and insurance that I can put towards other stuff for the next boat. Going to have to seriously work on my patience though.

That's a bummer that you will miss out on most of the season. Just curious if you got a price on how much to buy it back from the ins. Co. As is ? I see boats like that listed in a trader locally time to time but they are third party so the price is way up. Hope you can get on the water a.s.a.p. !!!

I inquired about buying some of the equipment off the boat, but not for the boat total. Price they gave me on the fishfinder and trolling motor wasn't much better than just replacing them so I passed. Especially since that would have also lessened the insurance payout too. On the plus side, they gave us replacement value so we're definitely not losing money on the situation.

I know you're probably set on a Premier brand replacement.

But before I'd sit a season watching all my friends and neighbors go by, I'd be looking for replacement boats. And there are a dozen pontoon/tritoon boat brands I'd be perfectly happy to own.

When I blew the lower unit on my old pontoon boat, we sat out a July 4th holiday. We had a new Bennington sitting in our boathouse by July 7th.

I hear you. Turns out our insurance also has a loss of use clause so we might be able to cobble a rental together for a few months. To add an interesting layer, my wife's making an argument to replace it with jetskis and snowmobiles instead. It's going to be an interesting decision making process.
