If there is a dock next to the ramp line your trailer up parallel to the dock and close enough that someone can assist you by holding the boat steady. I hook up the toon to the wench and crank it up to the tree. My wife typically steadies the stern as I pull the boat out very slowly. We stop a time or two to check the alignment.

I also back my trailer all the way into the water to wet the bunks, then pull it out as far as I can comfortably crank the boat onto the trailer. The more you have out of the water the more control you have of your boat on the trailer and the more likely it will be lined up when you pull it out.

I don't have guides but I also only launch my boat one or two times a year.
