Hello from Indiana - new Bentley owner here...

#1 Post by JCNSC » Mon Aug 20, 2012 7:18 am

Thanks for having such a great resource for pontoon owners! Been lurking for a while, owned boats most of my life but a first time pontoon owner.
Live in Santa Claus, Indiana. Just took delivery last month on a 24' Bentley Encore SE - 90 hp Mercury 4-Stroke. My first 4-stroke and definitely a fan!

Will try and get some pics posted of my wife's new Bentley!

I wouldn't own one either if my wife hadn't insisted, but with all things mechanical, they are only hers in spirit, they are mine to fix or repair...

Welcome to the forum. While I liked to go fast in our old Four Winns, this boat is so much more comfortable on every level.
Enjoy your 'toon!!

Couple weeks? I am measuring boating time in days and hours. I am in the middle of the worse drought area in the US. If we don't get another rain in the next week, going to have to pull my boat out of the home lake.

We have to pass through a massive culvert under a road from where the boat is docked most of the year to enter the main lake. While the lake has plenty of water and I still have 4' of water under the boat at dock, the pass through culvert is only about 18" deep at the moment. With rock and other hazards lining the culvert when the water is this low, I only have 6" of clearance on each side.

Definitely makes it nerve racking.
