First time toon owner in Phoenix

#1 Post by Mucho Gusto » Sat Mar 21, 2015 8:59 pm

Hi everybody! Been browsing and reading all kinds of great stuff on this forum for a couple of weeks and decided to join.

After 6 years of wanting, searching, but never "pulling the trigger", I finally did it two weeks ago and bought my first toon. Bought a Chapparal 1930ss in 1996 when I first moved to Arizona from Fort Smith, Arkansas. Was a single young man at the time and the boat served me well for 20 years. Fast forward... Now married with kids and all of our friends have kids so we've been looking for something more comfortable for hosting, but also something that performed well. Could never find anything that was everything we wanted while still being in the budget. Came across the Harris and said "the hell with it" and bought it. Should be able to pick it up next week. Needless to say, I'm having trouble staying patient. Very anxious!

Glad to be a member of this forum. Seems like lots of good folks with years of experience and knowledge.

Jay

Thank you, Roland ! They offereded a center walkthrough floorplan that was cool as well. It had more floor space, but this oversized furniture is quite comfy so we went for it. All that's left to do it pick out a BBQ grill and hit the lake.

Well... Was hoping that I'd be able to pick up the boat this week and was planning to take vacation time next Thursday and Friday to spend at the lake. Just got off phone with dealer (who has been exceptional) who told me the new trailer wouldn't be here until next Friday. Sucks!! Can't do much other than be patient. Could be worse....could have 3 feet of snow on the ground like some of the folks on here. Can't wait for summer!

Jay, don't know if the dealer would go for it, but you could let him know you scheduled time off and see if he has a trailer he could loan you for the weekend... wouldn't hurt.... worst that he could say is he doesn't have one... just a thought.

Thank you, Texas!

Good point, Roland. The dealership is 50 miles away, so I'd rather limit the amount of trips. If for some reason, the trailer doesn't come in on Friday, I might push to just have it changed out for one in the showroom. We'll see how it goes??

Thank you, Doc! It's for the bilge pump inside the ski storage locker.
