Hi People,

Here's a video of a new pontoon kit we are developing. This is a weld-on conversion kit to create a planing surface along the whole bottom of your 'toons. These are NOT lifting strakes. This is our 4th prototype, and was constructed mostly by hand, using much heavier materials than production, and carrying 400 pounds excess water. Notice how level the boat rides, virtually on top or the water. We should be able to get another 4-6 miles an hour out of the production prototype. I will post the results in a few weeks.

Hard to see what youve actually done, so ill take a guess....
Did you attach something to the bottom of the toons that essentially 'Flatten' the bottom of the toons?

Production kit specs for 23 foot long , 24" diameter pontoon...
Kit length : 18 feet
Kit weight: 230 pounds (2 pontoons)
Displacement : 800 Pounds
Net Buoyancy : 570 Pounds
Construction materials : 5052 Aluminum, 3 pound buoyancy foam, Rubber, Weld
Planing hull shape: full length M-Hull

My business partner and myself are both Tool and Die makers / designers specializing in progressive dies (primarily automotive) A friend of ours who is familiar with the pontoon industry made us aware of the market for planing pontoon hulls. With the slowdown in the automotive industry, we found ourselves with too much spare time, so we decided to play around a bit. We have been able to achieve a 40 percent reduction in drag on our tow tested models. So far, we have been able to increase the test boat's top speed by 4mph, even with a somewhat inaccurate prototype held on with straps and duct-tape. We're hoping to reduce the duct-tape usage dramaticly for the next kit, and ultimately use none at all. :drunks Our goal is to get at least 33 MPH. The boat handles quite nicely as well. We will also be developing a kit for tri-toons which will effectively lower the bottom of the center tube, making turns a bit easier.

The real bonus is that you will also turn your pontoons into double-hulls. Nice safety feature to sell the wife on.

We're located in Toronto, Canada. Short summer....but no tornados.

2-3 weeks for the final results, then I will post another video, with more info.

We are patent pending, but will be looking to find persons interested in becoming distributors/installers.

Looks great, Some one should jump on that for a aftermarket.

I'm not a patent lawyer, but check this part carefully. I think Manitou has a patent on the lower center toon thing already. If they do, you'd be infringing.
