Another prop question ?

25 ft. toon with a 150 etec I have a 14 7/8 x 17 now stock alum. What would give a little more speed and not lose my hole shot ?4 blade stainless steel ?

I'm assuming it is a triple tube boat. You might get a bit more with a good stainless of the same size and pitch. It really depends on what rpm you achieve now with the boat very lightly loaded. If you can hit the rev limiter, you might try moving up in pitch. Ours has a 14.25x17 SS Solas on a tri-toon 25 footer with a 225hp 4 stroke. We have reached 42mph @ 6200rpm. In fact we can almost always reach 6200 rpm no mater how the boat is loaded - only the speed drops due to prop slip. In theory, I should get 50mph with no slip but in reality, I get (when loaded heavily) 36mph with 28% prop slip with the prop and engine I've got.
