1988 Intec 20' w/ 48SPL Johnson

Intec was a roofing empire that bought a small Groves, TX deck boat company. They produced boats for one year then closed up shop. Any ideas why? Tax write-off?

This is a well constructed boat, ridged welding, and high quality materials in the frame and decking. All of the soft goods are shot and I am now (concurrently), stripping off the old carpeting and polishing the pontoons. Loads of fun, right.

I used the Toon Brite acid wash which worked well on a 22 year old boat ... it is all "white," but clean. Next I used fine steel wool soaked in mineral spirits to cut the white down to a smooth, almost reflective surface. Then I use Mothers Aluminum Polish on a buffer to make it like a mirror. Cut it all down again with thinner on a clean cloth then plan to shoot Sharkhide twice.

Will this work? It looks good in the shop. ^_^

Any recommendations on replacing the furniture? Lots and lots to choose from, some looks reaaly cheap tho.

Thanks ... glad I found this site.

I have noticed the same on aftermarket furniture. One member here (WoodenPontoon) bought new furniture from Bennington. If any boat factory's near you might contact them. The shark hide thing should be perfect. I noticed when I acid washed my toons the were also white but soon returned to normal color.

Oh and were glad you found it to
