That duckweed is a floating leaf about the size of a single clover. I causes not much problem as the boat just floats it out of the way. We have a bunch this year because of the storms passing thru here and creating a southerly wind. We live on a strip of land jutting out into the lake and we are on the wrong side so it just sits here with no way out without a northerly wind. The main lake is pretty clear right now but I have heard that the Giant Sylvania is coming back as the state has suspended spraying. Our gov has cut all funding for everything.

The government cut funding for everything except for leaches. Leaches get to thrive from their hosts, sucking them for all they're worth, then demanding more.jimrs wrote:Our gov has cut all funding for everything.
Leaches can be interesting to watch, though with some contempt. Just watch local leaches moving around a store, camouflaged with neck tattoos of their offspring - heck, National Geographic should do a special series about the Modern American Leach. They could highlight the lifestyle of laziness and breeding with several unknown mates. How they adorn themselves with fake hair and fake nails to attract a fellow leach, especially the leaches just released from captivity. Did you know that male leaches will mate with many female leeches, despite their inability to provide their offspring with food, shelter, and clothing? Most communicate with cellular devices which cost them nothing, and purchase their food with handouts from their hosts.

Here are some pictures of the anchor and holder. I hope you can figure it out it's pretty simple. I don't know where you can buy this anymore as I have had it for a lot of years. It's been on my last 4 boats. I had to modify it by removing some of the mounting hardware, and just bolted to the top rail. The anchor needs cleaning up some. I have 200ft of 1/2 braded nylon rope and 5ft of chain. I store the rope under the front seat on the boat. I also wrap the chain around the anchor. It has not marred the boat in anyway, not even a scratch. I consider this one of the best accessories that I have bought for my boats. I hope this help you figure it out. I don't know where you can find this holder anymore as I got it from Boat U.S when they had retail stores.

Regarding anchor holders, I'll throw in another idea from a houseboat we use every year- use a 12" to 18" length of 1-1/2" PVC or conduit attached vertically to the railing. The center bar of the anchor is dropped down the pipe and the anchor blades angle outward.

Damn Jim that looks Great!!!
Those batteries are that much. I run two of them and got them both deeply discounted through a buddy and still 60 bucks each.

I checked them out on there web site.I know that I'm buying one for the bow and maybe one Aft.Storing of the anchor has always been a problem ,this looks like it should be much easier for us to use.
