Does rockbox allow you to select songs by number from a key pad?

I don't have a display in my car, nor do I want one.

Texting is safe compared to reading down a play list on a display and trying to find a song.

I am not aware of any players that have a numeric keypad that Rockbox runs on so if you need that it may not work for you. I have literally thousands of mp3s on my players so numbers would not work for me. I just spend a few seconds to queue up the songs in the order I want (or that the ladies ask for :biggrin2 ) or play a playlist that I have previously created. Usually I start by playing a playlist and add any songs to it that are requested to play next or shuffled in.

I usually run about 1000 in my play list, sorted alphabetically and it is really not that hard to navigate by number.

We have started just using our iphone. For radio, we have the I heart radio app on her phone and mine. For our own music you just fire up itunes. We are taking the phone(s) with us when boating anyway, so it is just so easy. Also, they play forever without needing to be charged, but I usually take my phone charger anyway in case we need it. All free. One cable from the iphone to the head unit and I just leave that cable in the boat.

First thing we installed was a Pioneer Inno XM receiver. Only place it won't work is in the garage. The radio that came with the boat has an Aux input, and a USB plug.
