Since you're fairly close to Elkhart I'd really strongly recommend you look at these trailers as an alternative to the Hoosier.

http://www.trailersforpontoons.com

I visited him and bought a tandem 24' with disc brakes today for my Bennington. It's much nicer than the Hoosier, frame is by Mid-America, quite beefy, nice powder coat paint, and plenty of options to customize. No haggle pricing, but they're correctly priced to begin with. You can walk in, tell Paul what you want and they configure it on the spot ready to go that day.

I don't know about Hoosier trailers, But I do know that the Shorelanders are great. Super strong frame, tow excellent, and a very nice set of winch stand steps toget on the boat when it is on the trailer.
What ever you get for a trailer do not get a yacht club they suck, whimpy ass frames, they flex like crazy. and the "steps" on the winch stand are just 1 1/2 inch by 6 inch pins, a real pain to use.

here is the hoosier trailer. It looks super strong. has torsion axles (not sure about boat trailers but prefered on snowmobile trailers). surge brakes. my dealer carries genisis and hoosier. I didnt like the genisis build quality. I called a bunch of trailer dealers in michigan for other options and everyone of them (6) said if i want the best pontoon trailer go with teh hoosier. most carried hoosier, genisis, wolverine, and couple others. price was 3300.00 with tritoon kit and surge and i had to fight to get that price. most trailer dealers wanted 500-800 more

Hoosiers are good trailers for sure and widely available around here. My Mid-America from http://www.trailersforpontoons.com is a 24' tandem model (PT24T) rated for 5500# (the Hoosier is 4400#).

Included:
- Tri-tube full length bunk kit
- Spring axles (I just prefer it)
- 4 13" D range tire upgrade (5500# rating this way)
- 4 13" aluminum wheels upgrade
- LED lighting upgrade
- 4 disc brakes upgrade, both axles, with surge/electric reverse lockout
- Deluxe adjustable winch stand with wide steps
- Double wheel jack (these are really nice!)

Total was under $3500 without having to deal with a dealer.

Tell Paul I sent you. He's very easy to work with. Good luck!

Same here. When I bought my hull last summer, it was in the Elhart area. Paul had it strapped to the new trailer and waiting for me when I got there. A-1 construction from what I see. Mine is very similar to Tom's.
