I wonder how they do that, I was on lake Ray Roberts last weekend for that soldier thing and that lake has the zebra muscles, When I got home Sunday evening I took it to the car wash and blasted everything I could get to, livewells, pumps, I did wonder about the parts of the tubes that are on my bunks though.
I often wonder if Jimmy really did crack corn, and why should I care?

25 years ago I used to be one of those idiots. Although we were pretty responsible and didnt boat and drink, we did our share of drunk stuff at the camp. We did pull out our fair share of drunk drowning victims though. We used to love being out there in the middle of everyone. The more the better. But, as I have gotten older, I can no longer tollerate idiots! I like less in life. The wife has to work saturday and sunday and is off monday, tuesday and wednesday so we will go out monday evening for a while. Everyone will be headed home by then. We only live 1/2 mile from the lake so we can go out just about anytime we want for just a few hours. Be safe everyone!

I wonder as well. I picture some person standing there and asking people if they boat on other lakes? then if they say yes he askif they washed the boat with soap and water. if yes then the let them launch.

A typical inspection for quagga (zebra) muscles is to question what bodies of water you have been boating in and a cursory inspection of your bilge or other wet areas of the boat. Any evidence of zebras or even just residual moisture they will likely spray a biocide in those areas. Our local lake has them. The bottom surface of the lake looks like gravel there are so many. They are hard on hydro equipment and just about anything else they can attach themselves to. While I hate to admit it, as a scuba diver who does training dives in the same lake, I kind of like them. Because they are filter feeders they have really cleared up the water. During the colder months I have seen up to 90' visibility in our lake. This condition never existed until the quaggas showed up.

Loyd... the year before we bought our toon, we were in Houston and our hotel was right next to this big launch.... one evening after dinner, I pulled down and watched people load up and head home for the evening....now bear in mind this is a very wide launch, room for at least 3 trailers at a time.... there was this one guy who waited til everyone else had loaded up and moved on... then he tried to back his trailer down the launch... he had that thing sideways, everyway but straight... after 30 minutes of trying, another boater backed the trailer down for him... then it took them another 15 minutes to get their boat on the trailer. Then ended up actually getting in the water and lining up the toons and bunks and pushing the boat up onto the trailer.... 45 minutes total.... never got that out of my head and I think that is why my first season owning a boat, I was always worried about loading...... turns out it's only as hard as you make it.

This guy is lucky no one was seriously injured except for him!

We also pretty much stay off "the lake" during holiday weekends. And living across from a 4-lane pubic ramp gives us all the needed holiday weekend entertainment that we need. In fact, this weekend we watched as TowBoat/US brought in a submerged boat. Or at least we thought it was a boat, until a flatbed tow truck came down the ramp and promptly loaded a John Deere tractor!

What happens at the lake stays at the lake. Unless I have my camera handy.

I got to see a guy and his female friend back a nice older glastron boat and then pull it out quickly and stop on the ramp. and you probably guessed it he had to wait for all the water to drain out so he could put in the plug :thumbsup . the funniest part is I know that the boat has been for sale for a while on craigslist. :happy
