Remember Bugs, my boat doesn't have much on it in terms of weight. Not only that, but even though it's considered a 20 footer (log length), the deck is only 16'. If you add the weight of all my seats together, (2 sling back benches in front, two sling back chairs, a resin box bench in the rear and a resin box bench for the captain), I don't think you have 150 lbs TOTAL.

I'm finding it's all about weight with these things. When you start adding people and coolers to mine, the speed drops quickly.

That's why it's really tough to compare speeds between dissimilar boats and loads. Unless all things are equal, it can be really deceiving...not to mention frustrating.

After finally getting 75 hours on the motor, flat water, no wind, 2 people, 1/2 tank of gas, 2 anchors, lots of life vests, and two tubes stowed below in center tube, we hit 6000rmp, and 40 mph.

The rest is in the sig line below. We are very happy with the new toon.

2007 24ft StarCraft Limited Edition. 90 hp Mercury 2 stroke I usually run 3600 RPM's at 16 mph. Mostly 2 people with top open On the Chesapecke Bay, never smooth water .If I kick it out of the hole at 5,000 rpm's 22 mph. So Far I haven't had smooth water to really try it on. Most of the water is around 20 to 40 ft deep.
