My other concern is the seats, I was told by the manufacturer that sun tan lotion is one of the worst things that can stain them. its going to be an on going battle with that stuff, especially the spray kind. Is this true with all manufacturers?

Spray suntan lotion is the devil.

We made terry-cloth covers for all our seats.

Ok, so I need to make a sign about hooking my seats and getting lotion on them. Now just need to decide on the punishment. The Boston marathon bomber isn't going to get the death penalty so that may be hard for me to justify. but its not of the table.

Keel-hauling would certainly seem appropriate! Especially at 20 MPH.

If you are beached and guests are getting on and off the bow of the boat, put a plastic bus tub on the ground in front and put some water in there to rinse feet before getting back on. Where we beach, we use a little fold-out step stool to get in through the side gate. That way we can rinse off our feet in the water before getting on the boat. I know the sand will dry and I can just vacuum it up. But in Oklahoma, many of the lakes have red clay -- that stuff will stain horribly.

That was one of the real challenges.
I'll try to get a pic (I'm working from home today).

Alright.....I am attempting to not be neurotic....BUT

Took the boat out Sunday and hit someones wake. Had a water trail come up from the bow to the helm.
No biggie. Not worried.

Left the cover on but vented on Monday.
Had the cover off completely off today.
When I went after work to close her up she is drying but i am noticing water lines on the carpet and its turning orangish.

The carpet is South Bay beige weave.

My old boat had blue carpeting so I noticed nothing.

Should i be worried?

There was no food on my boat. So I know it's not food or drink related

Katie, try some of this stuff on the carpet stains. We find it at Wally World in the automotive section.

We have oatmeal colored carpet and no problems with using this stuff.

We went with oatmeal colored carpet on the boat, carpet in our lake place and tile at our house - best way of hiding shedding fur from our yellow lab. :lol3
