Took the toon out for one last ride yesterday...and then left it at the dealer for them to clean up and trade it in on a new (to me) 27 ft cabin cruiser. Loved the seating and openness in the toon, just wanted to be able to weekend on a boat, have A/C, generator, head, etc AND be able to move a little faster (or I would've bought one like BMR's). Hopefully I can pick the new one up Mon or Tues and be back on the water this week.

Yep! Yep! Been there, done that. All the way up to a 42 footer. Like they say at Motel 6, "We'll keep the light on for ya"

Yeah, this is my second go round with a cabin cruiser, but the last one was late 80's - early 90's. That one sunk in a hurricane here in Florida. I'm already dreading launching and retrieving this new one and am considering a marina already.

Around here with fuel prices high and the economy suffering from Obama's failures I am seeing alot of people with cabin cruisers staying in there slips or not launching at all.
Pontoons are alot more economical to run.

Same at my marina. I put at least double, likely triple the hours on my toon that the cruiser folks do here. They spend almost all their time at the dock partying while I am out fishing or whatever. Hell, I'd have a cruiser myself, if I could find one that is fishing-friendly. But the number one headache for boats is maintenance, and cruisers, with all those systems, have maintenance is spades! AC is nice for sleeping out, hope you like listening to generators all night. Toons are simple and tough, require as little maintenance as possible (except mine) and have a flexibility to be whatever kind of boat you want it to be.

We get out 3 or 4 days a week. It helps a lot that I an still averaging 1.18 GPH on my new Yamaha. I am coming up on 100 hours in my GPH calculations so any question about how full the tank was when I started has been averaged out.
