Hey Rowland, thanks for sending that our way, tomorrow evening we're supposed to start getting nailed with rain, calling for about 2-4" most places and some could see up to 7" or so. I'm all puckered up because this is just about what happened with Ike 4 years ago. We got a ton of rain, my basement was very close to taking on a lot of water and I've got a walk-out basement. We sure could use the rain but not like this.
Hope everythings still good for you Rowland and you didn't get much more rain than what you said, sounds like some places are getting dumped on.
Oh, and I guess our long holiday weekend at the lake is just about waved. Already high wind a small craft advisories out and lots of rain.

Thanks for checking up Roland. I appreciate it. The water came within 18 inches of the house. I have better pics on my real camera, but these are a few from the cell phone.

Thank god for the FEMA elevation rules huh?
If they had not trucked in 100 loads of dirt to build your house on you would be wet.

That is a pool. the water ended up almost level wth the deck whedn all was said and done. Our neighbors evacuated, with the thought they would be back the next day. Well, with the water they couldn't come back. He called me to see if would mind going over to his place and get rid of everything in the freezer so that he didn't come back to a mess. He likes to fish. I grilled for 10 people. redfish, drum, trout, sausage, and burgers.....and by the way, we thought the wine was going to go bad too. Here is the picture we texted to him.

That's just a funny picture and you must have some nice neighbors.

Those neighbors are part of the reason I feel the way I do today. What started as a cook out and a few coors lites, ended up in the middle of the road, with everyone around drinking whipped cream flavored vodka, and some other concoction. Whew.

This is pretty tasty:
"Orange Creamsicle"
1 1/2 cups Whipped cream flavored vodka (we used Pinnacle)
2 cups orange juice
2 cups ginger ale
Mix in pitcher and pour over ice.

We made it just fine here in Eunice, La. A few broken tree limbs but nothing serious. Stayed pretty busy evacuating the Gulf then getting guys back out as soon as the storm passed. Now taking a week of vacation to recuperate. Heading to Orange Beach, Ala. in the morning.

Rocky... enjoy your vacation and so glad you made it thru Isaac ok.... obviously we weren't expecting anything "really severe" up here in Shreveport, but they were forecast 6 inches of rain and sustained winds in the high 20's with gusts from 35 to 40mph... ended up getting about 1/2" of rain.. and a slight "breeze".....

Roland, look at the last picture of the three. The water was up to the beginning of the roof on my neighbors boat house.
