I'd just be satisfied with a parasail. They look like they're really a ball.

It'd just be hard to find someone I trusted to pull me. I'd probably end up towing everybody around.

Bamaman, I had a friend who was a parasail boat guy. he gave me an old parachute, and showed me how to "static fly". We tie a short picnic bench to a hundred + feet of line, and bury it in the sand. Then inflate the chute in the wind, and you don't need the boat. the chute flys the people, and they can steer it. We have a blast. I'm sure there are easier ways to anchor it, but we have always used the bench.

Wait... I already have a BOAT with pontoons, so it's just a question of adequate thrust and guidance, right???

We have a neighbor across the lake with a 1947 Cessna float plane.

When purchased, he took delivery 100 miles upriver. The battery was dead, so he thought he'd spin the prop to get it going. When the engine started, the throttle was about 3/4 open. The boat accelerated to about 40 mph with him out on the pontoon holding on for dear life. Somehow, he got the strength to crawl inside, and flew the boat home.

Last time I saw him taking off, a bass boat came out of a cove and was just about T-bone'd by the Cessna.

One gentleman on the lake flies a Bell JetRanger helicopter everywhere he goes. People will be out on the lake and get buzzed by him.

A retired Delta Airline pilot also lives on the lake, and our daughters are friends. The girls were out on the lake on PWC's one day, and the pilot was flying his aerobatic airplane inverted @ 50' right over them. He's obviously a maniac.

Some lakes are not at all boring places to hang out.

Have figure out how to mount a trolling motor on that.

The biggest advantage for ultralights is they have a whole lot less regulation over them. FAA says if you want to kill yourself, go for it. Just don't have a big enough plane to hurt anyone on the ground.

I am OK with that.

The low stall speed, STOL and quick breakdown sounds perfect for the river I live in. Flying around the bay seems like it would be really cool.
