How many of you out there lost your boat due to Helene?
I live on lake Greenwood in South Carolina. A lot of the community docks broke free and were destroyed. Boats drifted into the Hwy. 221/72 bridge and others and beat themselves into debris.

We have a camper at Keowee. Our boat is down there but is in a covered storage stall when we're not there. A couple of docks got torn up at the campground because people didn't pull their boats out. The guys right beside our dock just completely rebuilt theirs this summer and one of them left a pontoon on it. It tore the walkway and floating portion off but it at least flipped around beside it. There's another one that the group that shares it spent about $40k redoing it a couple years ago had two pontoons left on it and it got tore apart.
I don't use Facebook but my wife does. Look up the friends of Lake Keowee page if you have it. She said there were lots "does anyone know whose boat/dock this is" posts.
Our neighbor at the campground is the fire chief in Clyde up above Asheville. His deputy chief lost his house as did his division chief in a landslide with his wife still in it. She survived but he said she looks like she was in a UFC fight. The division chief also lost four uncles and three aunts, and they were still digging for the bodies yesterday.

Campground neighbor I mentioned earlier recovered three bodies up the road from Lake Lure in Garren Creek two days ago which has been wiped off the map. Normally it would be ten miles up 74 but now google shows the route as 57 miles with route closed messages even on that. He took a break from the hell and went down to check on our campers and boats in storage yesterday (all fine).
