Drop it from a crane???

In all seriousness, something is not right. Wrong prop, too much weight, too much weight up front, throttle adjustment or maybe somethings not right with the engine.
Your not dragging the anchor are you? :biggrin2

Full Throttle RPM Range 5,300-6,300 RPM

This is the rpm range you should be running in. If you can get your rpm up in this range, your boat will easily push you along in the mid 20s.

thank you for your suggestions, funny you mention the achor. I did that last week. I felt stupid. Weight is not an issue so I check into props.

Bass Frequency says he can out run a 4 stroke 90 with his two stroke 60. Horse Power is horse power so how can that be. I know that when you compare CC'S the four strokes are much larger to make the same amount of horse power. But 90 horse is 90 horse. Am I missing something here.

Torque be the difference.

Are you using a aluminum prop, the reason I am asking is I just replaced my aluminum with a composite from piranha props, stayed basically the same dia and pitch but the piranha increased my rpm.s and speed, you might have the same result.

Here is a link to the piranha props for the 90hp Honda.

dinbody, I have an '03 Suncruiser 22' with a 90hp Yamaha 2 stroke. It runs right at 23mph per GPS with just me an a 13 5/8"x13P prop at 5,400 rpm's. I only have the 23" logs. My outboard is a bit lighter than yours but I added a HEAVY 2nd battery back there so we are probably about the same weight back there.

You may be able to gain a bit by changing props and getting the rpm's up a little closer to 5,500.

And weight
Tis true. And with some builders, weight is becoming less and less of a factor lately. The current difference between Yamaha's 90hp 4 stroke and Evinrude's E-tech is now only about 50 lbs, depending on which publication you read. But even 50 lbs can make a difference.
