Sweetwater - more for your money

I have had my Sweetwater for four years and absolutely love it. Although, Sweetwater offers many sizes and floor plans, we decided to go with the 22 foot pontoon from the crusier series. Although this is a larger pontoon with many extras, it was very reasonably priced. We picked the off white, tan, and blue interior with the blue stripes on the side and blue covers. It looks so great on the water. We can easily seat 12 adults and have on many occasions. We have a grill, table, and nice stereo which makes for great entertaining. We wouldn't trade the countless fun times we have had with our family and friends on our boat for anything. I commend Godfrey and Sweetwater for having such a boat that met our needs exactly while selling at a reasonable price.

Well, can anyone answer the question, how well do Sweetwater boats hold up over time as compared to say a Bennington S?

Captain Dan: Pontoons and tritoons are pretty generic boats. Since they're aluminum, they've got a much longer lifespan than a fiberglass full hulled boat, and they're also very durable after any bugs are worked out the first few months.

As far as differences: Yes there are some subtle differences in brands, but they often don't matter. There are a dozen brands of pontoons I would be proud to own.

I just went with the Bennington because we have a couple of great dealerships within 90 miles. And the warranty is in a class of its own. And the price was fair for the 24SSLX I bought. While I don't intend to trade, resale is tops and they don't last long on a dealer's lot preused. (My old Starcraft lasted 27 years.)

The main thing is to have a dealer willing to compete for your business with a fair price, and a dealer that's been around awhile. You want them around to service your needs. And remember that if you buy 100 miles away, any warranty work will require driving 600 miles back and forth before it's home.

Bamaman, we need to talk!
I am looking at a Bennington 24 SSRX. Looking to set it up at a tritoon, 150 hp. How is yours set up? What kind of numbers are you seeing? Any pix posted? Would love to see some underside shots if you have them.
