Extra key, and Yes I learned the hard way. Btw forget the oars. Your not moving a pontoon with an oar. Yes, I learned that when I lost the key. Oh!! and a flashlight so you can look for your key in the water in the dark.

Non-mandatory but what I carry:

Lots of rope. Dock lines, 100' of 1/2 on a spool
Tool kit, wrenches, sockets, drivers, pliers
Electrical wire
Electrical tape
Spare bulbs
First aid kit
Ibuprofen
12v jump pack (much easier than trying to use jumper cables)
Hose clamps
Odd screws, bolts
Collapsible oars x2

Yep - hose clamps are a must on this list. also either motor oil or 2 cycle oil, whichever is your flavor.
Paper towels and a couple of rubber gloves if you need to mess with gasoline. Bandaids, velcro strips and duct tape/electrical tape. Im also loving zip ties lately. and after being an offshore veteran, I keep a spare oil and fuel filter and a filter wrench. A small flashlight would be good too.

Where do you need a paddle? It certainly is not in the USCG or Florida rules, although they do "recommend" a paddle on boats up to SIXTY FIVE FEET (this is even in the class 3 boilerplate). Yeah I want to see some guy in a 54 foot Bertram with a paddle.

I can't imagine doing anything with a paddle on my Harris 20. A pole is a lot better plan but if your lake/bay/ocean is more than a few feet deep that won't help much either.
