Water in Tubes?

Just an FYI note:

Starboard and Port always refer to the sides of a boat/ship as viewed from the helm facing forward.


So regardless of which direction you're looking at the boat from, bow or stern view, Port & Starboard remain the same.

Port is the left side, Starboard is the right side.

Yes, and easy way to remember which is which left, and port have same number of letters so they are matched up so to speak.

LOL, I've always been able to remember them because alphabetically, Port comes before Starboard, as does Left comes before Right.

The way I learned was to put myself in the Atlantic ocean headed north,,, that puts the CONUS on your left, that's where the port is,,, and the open ocean on your right,,, where the stars are,,, also helps with color,,,green is clean sailing,,,starboard open ocean,,,,red is port,,, many obsticals,,,,,

Starboard - One could say that the "Star" of the boat, the captain, sits on the right side and "Starts" the engine from that seating position. But, since Port is now so easy to remember, Starboard and green have to be the right side.

This is where the origin of the word "posh" comes from. In the days of the British Empire, sailing from Britain to India (for example) you always wanted to be on the port side going out, and the starboard side on the return journey (best winds coming in your porthole, I would guess). So the saying was:

Port Out
Starboard Home

Update, definitely water in the tubes. I took one of the top plugs out today and used a hand siphon to remove water. No idea how much water I removed, but the starboard toon has raised almost two inches and there is still water in there. So currently looking for a 12v in line pump, make things so much easier.
Still got to find out where the water got in, but that's another story

Another, There is a little Port, left in my glass
