Center Toon Questions

#1 Post by FloterBoter » Wed Jun 30, 2010 8:34 pm

Those of you who bought tritoons or added a log:

1. How much larger is the diameter of the center log than the side logs?

2. How many inches lower is the bottom of the center log than the side logs?

3. To get rid of butt-in-the-water syndrome, I assume best to remove the glide thingamajig and run the center log all the way near the back--how far from the lower unit to avoid flow issues?

Not sure who made the boat.

On my Premier with PTX package, the center toon is listed as 36" (U-shaped) and the outside toons are listed as 27". You may or may not be able to tell in this pic, but the bottom of all three toons are just about even. The center toon has a 12" flat "planing surface" that the boat comes up on (and you can really notice it), while the two outside toons are round with inside lifting strakes, but if I were to put a straightedge across all toons, I doubt there is much difference overall.

Please excuse the yellow rope in the picture. I had to store the boat outside this past winter and I had fashioned a cover from one of those temporary carport thingies, and had it tied to the boat and to a temporary fence post at the windward end of the boat at the time the pic was taken.

wow, there sure is a lot of variation.

hey bassfreq, is your short center log (geesh that sounds personal) mounted back as far as possible? is the idea to raise the hind end?

26" outboard, 29" center.
All even across the stern, center ends in transom and is 3" deeper in the water.
