Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
That's what I have, a West Marine branded Magma grill. It's mounted so the grease drips into the water and not on the boat.

Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
We have the magma brand grill got it off ebay new and it was cheap.
I like that it mounts over the water so I don't have to fuss with grease dropping on the carpet. Only problem we have had is the control knob for the gas fell in the water one day and I had to go fishing for it

I dug up this old post while searching for grill options. Any chance you could update your picture links for these?
Thanks,

Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
I don't know that Steve's around much, think he sold the boat late last year, but here's mine, I borrowed the idea from Steve and made some changes. Extended it out over the water and added the "beer" table (one of my wife tv table tops haha), stained it and added about 3-4 coats polyurethane. I mounted the grill and table to the 2 steel rails and it's held to the boat rails with U-bolts. I can (and do) easily remove the grill from the table/rails for stowage.....only down fall is storing. But as it's mounted it's very solid, I've left it on for a week even during pulling tubers.

Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
I was searching this site the other day for grill options, and someone was talking about Kuuma stainless grill they had and loved on another thread. I've found one for ultra cheap on ebay, and I'm planning on buying it. Before I do, I want to confirm if this is the one? (I can't remember who it was who said they had one and loved it)

Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
I'm struggling with a grill too! i"ve found pretty good deals on Ebay for the Magma Grills, but they seem awfully small. Does anyone have the 15" or 17" round? It states the cooking sq inch, but how much of the surface can you use? Maybe 4 hamburgers at a time? Is there a major difference between the orignal and the 2, other than the push button starter?
I haven't seen the Kuuma, Stephen. Does it mount or just set on a table?

It mounts, but that's actually another question I had. Will it mount over the water? That's ultra important to me. I don't have the room on my boat to have a grill hanging over it, and I don't want grease dripping on seats/carpet anyway.

Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
Yeah, I don't want grease dripping everywhere either. I'm looking into the Magma 15" on ebay for $138 because I know it will swing over the water. I just don't know if a 15" round will be big enough. I do like the Kuuma's size and shape, if there is a swing arm available.

Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
Hawk is right about the deck mount pedastal leaving grease on the carpet. mine came with a cup to hang under the drain hole but I think that got lost the same day I first used it. However, even with the grease spot I would'nt change a thing. I like the whole "BBQ on the front porch" thing.

Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
I found out the one I'm looking at is 2' wide. I have a lot of seating and four entry gates, which leaves very little room to mount a grill. I'm afraid the one spot I really had to do it won't accomodate a 24" wide grill, so now I'm thinking about the Magma Kettle like BMR's. BMR, does yours swivel so you can have it hanging over the boat or water? It's not terribly important, just curious.
I was really hoping to order something this weekend, and that Kuuma's auction ends tomorrow.

Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
Stephen, they do make a swivel mount for the Magma. They have the original 17" with a hinged lid vs. the lanyard on Ebay for $158 (15" for $138) and the mount is around $40. I figure the 15" can cook about 4-5 decent hambugers at a time, but I'm leaning towards the 17" for a little more room. Here is the link for more info... http://magmaproducts.com/Products/products.htmlStephen wrote:I found out the one I'm looking at is 2' wide. Re: BBQ grill options or opinions??
Thanks man. I've been looking at that site a bit this morning. Check out Spinnaker Jim's (link to Kettle line below). They have some of the best prices I've seen on the internet. I'm leaning towards the 15", just because I want to save money. I like the idea of being able to cook a few more burgers at a time, though.
