Howdy From Lake Allatoona!

#1 Post by Doctordeere » Mon Jun 18, 2012 11:54 am

Hello all,
I'm new to this forum but hardly new to boating. Been puttin' about Lake Allatoona for around 45 years now (where the hell does time go?). Wife and I just took delivery of our new Bentley 200 Cruise SE which is my eighth (I think) boat and my second 'toon. First 'toon was a Smokercraft Sunsport, '98 24 footer w/90hp Merc. We've now decided to go smaller and slower, and just enjoy the cruisin'.

Any Lake Allatoona regulars?

Anyway, happy to be here and pleased to meetcha.

I've been there once, but my dad is there every week. They live in Powder Springs.

Who'd know that you were right in the middle of Atlanta/Marietta, GA? It's so easily accessible for Cobb County, Paulding County and Woodstock folks.

Pretty lake.

Yes it is, thanks. A bit on the smallish side (12,000 acres), but lots of gorgeous cruising. I've spent 51 of my 52 years within 25 miles of Allatoona. The other year was spent on Kent Island, Maryland.

I'm close to Kent Island (Chesapeake City) but I fish all summer down there out of Matapeake.
