What are you paying for gas this year?

#1 Post by smltooner » Sat Mar 07, 2009 8:00 pm

We went to the marina today for the first time since last September.
Paid $2.55/gal today at marina. Gas in town is $1.75/gal.
Sure beats last years prices.

Gas in western NY is in the $2.10 territory, give or take a nickel. Last time I went to the reservation, (native American, Tucarora) gas was $1.95. So........when our boating season starts in May, I tend to think we'll be back up to around $3 a gallon..........just hoping it doesn't go higher.

In any event.....the pontoon boat is one of my summer pleasures, and I'll pay what I have to so I can enjoy Chautauqua Lake.

Gas is back up to 1.88 in the Orlando area and diesel is down to 2.09, both beat what they were last year, I hope the speculators lost there ass and won't be there to run the prices up again for a long time.

I didn't take the boat out or go on vacation as I couldn't afford the 4.60 a gallon for diesel.

the diesel down here is running any where form 1.95 to 1.99. i bought a programmer back when diesel was close to $5. went from 19mpg HWY to 22mpg HWY. now that diesel is cheap, i really am a happy camper. :nana

Haven't checked marina prices yet but our average street price is about $1.79. It's usually about .30 cents higher on average on the water here though.

Glad to see oil prices falling, especially heating oil. We locked in at $4.09 a gallon last summer after being told it would go to $7.00 by January. Using our woodstove reduced our oil bill 60 percent even with the high price. Next year we intend to rely on the wood stove more even if prices stay they same or fall. Screw the oil companies.

That's what they love to hear you and others say. When it hits $3.00 then we start to bitch again and demand we drill here then it starts all over again until we get to $4-$5 and then say beats $8.00 any day!!!

It's a vicious cycle to get the price up a half dollar at a time until they get what they want for a gallon.

Yep, with the current price per barrel we should be seeing $1-$1.20 street price by now, wtf.

$1.84-$1.89 on the street. We've been out on the lake but I haven't looked because I use 5 gallon cans.
